720p / HD elokuvat
Alkuperäinen HD
720p — 1280×720 pikseliä — on siellä, mistä "HD" alkoi, ja se pysyy internetin käytännöllisimpänä laatutasona. Hyvin koodattu 720p-elokuva painaa murto-osan 1080p- tai 4K-versioistaan, toistuu sujuvasti vain 2–4 Mbit/s -nopeudella ja näyttää huomattavan hyvältä puhelimen ja tabletin näytöillä.
Milloin 720p on fiksu valinta
- Pienet näytöt: puhelimella käsivarren mitan päästä useimmat eivät erota 720p:tä 1080p:stä.
- Hitaat tai rajoitetut yhteydet: 720p on ero sujuvan toiston ja loputtoman puskuroinnin välillä — ja lempein datakatolle.
- Tallennustila: pienin tiedostokoko per elokuva tarkoittaa enemmän elokuvia per gigatavu.

Isoilla televisioilla sohvaetäisyydeltä 720p pehmenee näkyvästi — siellä 1080p ja 4K ansaitsevat lisäbittinsä. Ajattele näytölle sopivaa laatua: 720p mobiiliin, 1080p standardiksi, 4K isoille paneeleille.
