Oppløsningen filmen hoppet over
1440p — markedsført som QHD eller (løst) 2K — er 2560×1440 piksler: nesten dobbelt så mange som Full HD, godt under 4K. Den ærlige sannheten: nesten ingen film distribueres i 1440p. Strømmetjenester og plater hopper rett fra 1080p til 2160p. Forvirrende nok betyr «2K» i profesjonell film egentlig 2048×1080 — knapt mer enn Full HD.
Hvorfor QHD likevel betyr noe
På grunn av skjermene. 1440p er PC- og spillverdenens gullpunkt — skarpere enn 1080p, langt lettere enn 4K — millioner ser film på QHD-skjermer daglig. En 4K-strøm nedskaleres der med synlig skarphetsbonus (supersampling).
Tips for QHD-skjermer
- Velg 4K-strømmen hvis abonnement og linje tillater det — nedskalert 4K slår naturlig 1080p synlig.
- Sitt nært: på skrivebordsavstand er oppløsningsforskjeller mye mer synlige.
- Ikke jakt på «1440p-ripper» — de er bare omkodinger av 1080p- eller 4K-kilder.
